Pakistan vs England: Gunshots Heard Around 1KM Away From Team Hotel At Multan

Date:

While the England cricket team is preparing itself for the 2nd Test against Pakistan, a shocking news has emerged. According to the Independent, there were gunshots heard in Multan around 1 KM away from the team hotel.

England is touring Pakistan after 17 long years and this series is a memorable and historic Test series. The Ben Stokes-led side won the first game by 74 runs and the Test saw the 3rd most maximum number of runs being scored in a 5-day game. A total of 1768 runs were scored across the 4 innings.

According to the report, local gangs were involved in the incident. The police have arrested 4 people. The report further said that England’s practice sessions were unaffected by this incident.

England is presently playing Pakistan in the 2nd Test match. Ben Stokes has won the toss and has elected to bat first. The Three Lions have made one change to their playing XI. Mark Wood has replaced an injured Liam Livingstone. He has been ruled out due to a knee injury.

On the other hand, Babar Azam’s Pakistan has made 3 changes to their playing XI from the first game. Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed replace Azhar Ali, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf.

Notably, in 2009 the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked a group of 12 armed men in Lahore near the Gaddafi Stadium. While 6 Sri Lankan cricketers were wounded, 6 Pakistani police officers and 2 civilians were killed in this gruesome attack.

Cricket gradually started coming back to Pakistan with Zimbabwe being the first full-member nation (back then) to tour the Asian side in 2015. As the situation started improving, teams started coming back to the cricket-frenzied nation. Pakistan is a nation that brims with zealous fans with unbounding passion and enthusiasm.

England is currently 1-0 up in the 3-match Test series. A win in this game would mean that they take an unassailable lead in the series. Therefore, it is a do-or-die situation for Babar Azam’s men as they have to win this game at any cost.
