The Pakistan Super League (PSL) player draft for the 2023 season took place on December 15 in Karachi. In the draft, more than 500 players participated. The Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary categories have to be chosen by the teams.
Franchises also wisely employed the option to match cards. The RTM was utilised by Quetta Gladiators to reclaim Naseem Shah from Multan Sultans. Abrar Ahmed, who recorded 11 wickets against England on his Test debut, will play for Islamabad United. Babar moved to Zalmi, hence Karachi Kings’ captain is now Imad Wasim, who led them to win in 2020.
A total of 517 international players and 491 domestic players were available for selection in the tournament’s ninth season. Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions, had the option to choose the first player, with Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans having the second- and third-choice spots, respectively.
