There are big names like David Warner, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, and others that have set their base price INR 2 Crores. Aakash Chopra Predicts Most Expensive Player of IPL 2022 Mega-Auction
In between former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra has come up predicting that Royal Challengers Bangalore will go all out for Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2022 mega-auction. In a video, he said that RCB is in need of a skipper after Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy and Shreyas Iyer will be an ideal candidate to replace the 33-year-old.
Aakash Chopra asserted that RCB would have kept INR 20 Crores for the Indian middle-order batsman, who holds good experience of leading a team in the Indian Premier League. He is also touted to be India’s future skipper if everything goes well for the talented batsman.
He didn’t feature in IPL 2021 as he sustained an elbow injury. But, in IPL 2020 he led his side Delhi Capitals to the top 4.
“Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don’t think Punjab would be looking at him,”
The former Indian skipper feels Shreyas Iyer is going to be the most expensive player in this auction and teams will have to fight hard in order to grab Iyer’s services.
“The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer. In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could’ve been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer,” he added.
