CPL 2021 got kicked off on 26th August with a match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders. The day saw its 2nd game between Barbados Royals and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Both the games entertained cricket fans to the helm. The batsman smashed some cracking sixes against the bowlers. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle smashed the biggest of all and shattered the glass of the pavilion stand.
Chris Gayle is plying traits for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL 2021. He failed in converting his good start in his opening game of the tournament into a quickfire knock. Gayle got out scoring 12 runs off 9 balls with the help of a six that hit the headlines for the day.
Chris Gayle Breaks Glass With A Big Six
The southpaw went down the line against Jason Holder and smashed a cracking six that shattered the glass. It was a cheerful sight for every cricket fan and everyone expected of Gayle Storm. But, that was not the case as Oshane Thomas clean bowled veteran West Indies batsman in the sixth over of the innings.
Coming onto the match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Innings managed 175 runs for a loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Sherfane Rutherford smashed a quick fifty and scored 53 runs off 43 balls. Also, DJ Bravo managed an important knock of 47 runs in just 35 balls.
Later on, Barbados Trident was expected to give a tough fight to Bravo & Co. But that was not the case and they scored only 154 runs and were left well short of 21 runs from chasing down the target. From Barbados Trident Shai Hope finished as the top scorer with 44 runs. On the other hand, Dominic Drakes finished as the best bowler taking two wickets in his four-over spell.
