Brisbane Heat locked horns with Melbourne Stars in the 32nd affair of BBL 2020-21. The game was marred with the rain for some time and the former got a target of 115 runs in 10 overs to chase. Heat tried their best to chase the target. But, they fell short of 18 runs. However, one thing that left every fan stunned was the brilliant fielding effort of Max Bryant in order to save an important boundary. It was deja-vu of the one Nicholas Pooran did in IPL 2020 while playing for Kings XI Punjab in one of the games.
Stars won the toss and elected to field first against Heat. The rain cut short the length of the game to 10-overs. Firstly, Heat managed to score 115 runs in their stipulated 10 overs. Chris Lynn smashed 48 runs off 23 balls studded with three boundaries and four sixes.
Max Bryant ‘Unbelievable’ Fielding Stunned Everyone: BBL 2020-21
Max Bryant amassed 31 runs. Later on, Burns joined the party and hammered 22 runs off 11 balls. Coming onto the chase, Melbourne Stars scored only 110 runs and lost the game by 18 runs (DLS). Marcus Stoinis and Nick Larkin managed to score more than 20 runs. The former scored 34 runs off 20 balls and the latter amassed 35 off 16 balls.
The highlighting instance of the game took place in the penultimate over of the game. Nick Larkin went for a big six off Lewis Gregory over deep mid-wicket. The ball was very well smashed for a maximum and it almost landed across the boundary. But, Max Bryant’s magical fielding effort saved 6 important runs for his side. He took a long jump and threw the ball with one into the play.
It was simply a world-class effort from the Heat’s fielder. Even the commentators couldn’t believe it and said, “UNBELIEVABLE from Max Bryant! This could be the best fielding game we’ve ever seen!! #BBL10.” Although, Gregory gave away 23 runs in his over. But, still, Heat’s managed a crucial victory 18 runs. In the end, Chris Lynn was nominated as the Man of The Match for his blitzkrieg of 48 runs in just 23 balls.
