India is currently playing in the 2nd ODI against West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. And, the hosts have found themselves struggling from the word go in the game. The Men in Blue have lost their three wickets at a score of 43 runs.
India opened the game with a new set of openers in the 2nd ODI. Rohit Sharma and Rishabh took the crease for the hosts and everyone expected them to smash bowlers all across the park due to their hard-hitting abilities. But that was not the case as India lost both the openers in the first 12 overs.
Rishabh Pant heavily criticised by fans on social media
Very soon Rishabh Pant’s name started trending on the microblogging website Twitter. He was heavily criticized by the netizens on social media for playing a poor stroke and throwing his wicket away when Team India needed a dependable knock from the southpaw.
From ball one, the wicket looked very difficult for the batsmen and Indian batsman Rishabh Pant was expected to play with a defensive approach. However, he didn’t care about the situation and tried smashing the bowlers as per his batting style. On the other hand, West Indies bowlers took a decent advantage of the same and dismissed Pant in the very same fashion as he was dismissed in the 3rd ODI against South Africa.
The instance happened in the 11th over of the game that was bowled by Odean Smith. The pacer bowled a slow bouncer moving bowl the bowl away from the southpaw. The batsmen then tried to play a pull stroke in order to deliver the ball for a massive six. However that didn’t happened as he played a mistimed shot and was caught by Jason Holder.
Rishabh Pant looked upset while walking towards the pavilion leaving India in a difficult situation. And, in no time Pant’s was criticized on social media for his batting approach.
Coming onto the game, India is currently playing at a score of 78 runs for a loss of three wickets with Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul batting on the crease.
