India will face Hong Kong in their second game of the 2022 Asia Cup on Wednesday after defeating Pakistan by five wickets on Sunday. The management of the Indian squad will still have to cope with the selection problem because not all of the players chosen for the starting XI in the match against Pakistan delivered on expectations. As a result, some in-form players were forced to warm the benches.
India chose Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant, their customary wicketkeeper-batter, for the high-stakes match against Pakistan. Rishabh Pant maintains his trademark attacking style regardless of the setting. Off the pitch, however, the intrepid wicketkeeper-batter is his normal chirpy self. Pant, a member of the Indian Asia Cup 2022 team, garnered admiration for his kind act by signing an autograph for a young supporter.
Pant’s special gesture – Watch
“Rishabh Pant gives an autograph to a small fan. Other guy tells him how he couldn’t meet him in Delhi. Pant is a lovely guy!,” tweeted Mufaddal Vohra

IND vs HK: Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik?
In India’s 5-wicket victory over Pakistan on Sunday, Karthik just faced one delivery. While Hardik Pandya stepped in at No. 5 and hammered a quickfire 33 to help India clinch a difficult chase of 148 in the penultimate over of the drama, India promoted Ravindra Jadeja to No. 4 in Pant’s absence.
Notably, Pant has participated in 54 T20I matches for India, scoring 883 runs with an average under 25. Following IPL 2022, the wicketkeeper-batter led India in a 5-match home series against South Africa, but he hasn’t been able to equal such results in T20I cricket.
