The Mumbaikar came and hogged the limelight in the same edition where he smashed a quickfire 45 off 21 balls against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This innings made him earn Virat Kohli’s respect. He was bought by RCB for 50 Lakhs INR in 2015.
In the 2016 season, he played a few eye-catching knocks but he was not a regular in the playing XI due to fitness issues. During the 2018 auction, he was retained ahead of Chris Gayle which took everyone by surprise.

He was accused of being overaged by a school team. When bone tests were conducted there were results of age fudging that were first found.
As per the bone tests, it was thought that he was 15 years old but his birth date registered with the school it was found that he was 13 years old. This incident shook him.
