Shardul Thakur has managed to become a must-pick for every captain as an all-rounder due to his ability to provide a breakthrough at any stage in the game. The medium-fast bowler joined the Chennai squad in 2018 and has been a star striker for the franchise on many occasions. While he didn’t get the opportunity to bat often coming down the order, his contributions with the ball have made him special.
Thakur ended as the team’s highest wicket-taker with 21 wickets to his name in the 2021 edition. He has garnered 55 wickets for his side in the last three years which makes him a valuable pick. While CSK had signed him for 2.6 Cr back in 2018, they should have dedicated a larger amount of their purse to acquire his services this season as well.
