In 2018, Raj was suspected of participating in a Bitcoin scam. According to the Pune Criminal Department, some Bollywood actors are promoting an illegal scam to invest funds in Bitcoin. After the police raided the scandal, a large sum of money was recovered. It is said that as many as 200 million rupees have been recovered.
Kundra was subpoenaed by ED for allegedly having connections with two Pune businessmen, Amit Bharadwaj and his brother Vivek Bharadwaj, who are the directors of a company called GainBitcoin that misled more than 8,000 people through the cryptocurrency program.
According to Delhi police, Bhardwaj is suspected of establishing a multi-level marketing scam by inducing investors to provide him with bitcoin and promising higher returns. He never issued a statement but fled the country. Kundra allegedly promoted one of Bhardwaj’s platforms.
