After Delhi Capitals’ Shreyas Iyer suffered a shoulder injury, the team named Rishabh Pant as the new captain for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The IPL 2021 was suspended due to an increase in covid cases. It was then restarted in September 2022 and the cash league resumed.
Shreyas Iyer should have been given the captaincy back after his return but, in the end, he was not given the nod despite the impressive performance.
