After losing the first Test, the Proteas bounced back to win the second game to level off the series. It was a hard-fought win for the hosts as their skipper Dean Elgar led from the front and ensured they won their first Test at the Wanderers against India. Elgar’s unbeaten 96 was the turning point in the second Test as they won in Johannesburg by 7 wickets.
It was a good all-around performance from the hosts in the second Test to level the series. All four pacers- Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Duann Olivier, and Lungi Ngidi have been fantastic for them and they will continue to play a major role in the decider. It is expected that they won’t be messing up with the winning combination for the final Test.

KL Rahul led the Indian team elected to bat first after winning the toss in the second Test. They were knocked over on 202 Runs in the first innings, thanks to some brilliant bowling from the Proteas’ pacers. Shardul Thakur then starred with the ball and broke the back of South Africa’s batting line-up, picking up seven wickets. South Africa was bundled out on 229 in their first innings.
India only managed to score 266 in their second innings, setting a target of 240 for the hosts. Skipper Elgar stood tall against the Indian bowlers on a tricky pitch scoring an unbeaten 96 as he helped his side get across the line. South Africa won the second game by seven wickets and leveled the series.
While Virat Kohli is expected to return and lead the Indian side, there are still clouds over Mohammed Siraj playing as he suffered a hamstring injury and we might expect Umesh Yadav or Ishant Sharma to replace him in the Playing 11. Shardul Thakur was sensational with the ball in the second Test and will remain a key player. India will be hoping for contributions from their top-order batters to seal the series in South Africa.

The surface at Cape Town provides good assistance to the pacers and is predicted to remain the same throughout the course of this Test. We can expect some Initial swing for the pacers in the first half and adequate turn for the spinners towards the latter half. Batters will need to spend quality time on this bowler-friendly track early on to convert their innings to bigger scores.

SA vs IND, Who will win the match, Today Match Prediction
South Africa is expected to win against India.
South Africa seems to have found the right balance and with the winning momentum behind them after leveling off the series 1-1 and are expected to win the final game of the series. Both sides will come out hard in this decider Test. Given the numbers, South Africa has won 3 matches against India at this stadium, winning 2 of them batting first. South African bowlers bowled really well in the third Test and given the current form they are in they will probably come on top of Indian batters.
On the other hand, India has a chance to create history and they need to be at their absolute best to seal the series. Toss will also play a major role in the feat of India in the series as they will also aim to bat first to not give any advantage to the home team. India has never won a test match at Cape Town and going by the form of Indian batters and South Africa’s fast bowlers, there is a good chance that the hosts might win this test.
Popular Betting Odds For SA vs IND, Today Match Prediction, Cricket Betting Tips
Top Batsman for South Africa- Dean Elgar
Dean Elgar has been rock solid for South Africa in batting in the last two games. Elgar has amassed 202 Runs in 2 matches with an average of 67.33. He will be a key batter for South Africa to take control of the Indian bowling. His recent historic knock of unbeaten 96* runs took his team across the winning line in the 4th innings of the second Test. He can be a safe pick as a player as he is expected to back his side in Capetown as well
Top Batsmen for India- KL Rahul
One cannot neglect the sheer amount of value Rahul brings to the Indian squad. The 29 -year old has been scoring runs for his side in every given format. He has grown exponentially in the Test format cricket over the last few years. He is currently the leading run-scorer in the series with 204 runs in 2 Matches including a high score of 123 Runs in Centurion and a half-century at Johannesburg. If he remains on the crease for a longer duration he will certainly prove to be a threat for the Proteas bowlers.
Top Bowler for South Africa- Kagiso Rabada
He is a lethal bowler who could maintain speeds up to 140-150kmph range. Rabada has shown his ability in the longer format with exceptional bowling figures in the past. Leading the pace attack for South Africa he has picked 13 Wickets in the series so far. He is a sure-shot pick as a player that is expected to take at least one or two wickets in this contest.
Top Bowler for India- Shardul Thakur
His recent stint of seven wickets in the first Test makes him a must-pick as a bowler. He is an aggressive quick bowler, who can swing the ball away from the right-handers even while hitting the pitch hard. So far he has picked 10 wickets in the series. Thakur will play a crucial role in breaking the back of South Africa’s batting lineup and restricting them to lower totals.
