Playing 300 ODIs in cricket is a testament to one’s incredible determination, grit and dedication. Only a few cricketers in the world can achieve this feat and it requires tremendous amounts of sacrifice and a little bit of destiny as well.

In a country of around 1.5 billion people, cricket is an absolute emotion and it runs in the veins of the most traditional hearts. People play cricket in every nook and corner of the country and they all aspire to become a cricketer someday.

Recently in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former Indian captain and talismanic batter, Virat Kohli, became the 7th Indian to play 300 ODIs or more for India. This is a remarkable achievement and Kohli should take immense pride in this achievement.

In this article, we take a look at the complete list of Indians who have played 300 or more ODIs:

1. Sachin Tendulkar (463 ODIs)

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has played 463 ODIs and is also the leading run-scorer in this format with 18,426 runs. Sachin has always been a role model for Indian cricketers and he has left behind a legacy in this format.

2. MS Dhoni (347 ODIs)

Former Indian legendary captain MS Dhoni has played the 2nd most number of ODIs by an Indian batter. He has played 347 ODIs and has mustered 10,773 runs. Dhoni has also helped India win the ICC ODI World Cup 2011 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

3. Rahul Dravid (340 ODIs)

Former Indian Head Coach and captain, Rahul Dravid, is 3rd in this elite list and he had made his debut in international cricket, way back in 1996. Rahul Dravid has scored 10,889 runs in ODIs and is a beacon of inspiration and motivation for the Indian cricketers and the cricketers across the globe.

4. Mohammad Azharuddin (334 ODIs)

Former Indian Captain Mohammad Azharuddin was one of the best players of India in the latter half of the 20th century and he had carved a niche for himself in international cricket. Azharuddin played 334 ODIs and scored 9378 runs. He also has played 99 Test matches for India.

5. Sourav Ganguly (308 ODIs)

The Royal Bengal Tiger of India, Sourav Ganguly was a revolutionary leader of the Indian cricket team. He subsequently became a cricket administrator and has triggered some wholesale positive changes for the Indian cricket team. Ganguly has played 308 ODIs for India.

6. Yuvraj Singh (301 ODIs)

One of the finest all-rounders ever produced by India, Yuvraj Singh was for a very long time, the backbone of the Indian cricket team. Singh played 301 ODIs for India and has also been a part of the title-winning ICC ODI World Cup 2011 squad of India.

7. Virat Kohli (302* ODIs)

The latest addition to this prestigious and elite list, Virat Kohli has been the knight in shining armour for Team India. Whenever India’s backs are against the wall, it is Virat Kohli who bails them out. Kohli has smashed 51 ODI centuries so far and is the batter with the most number of centuries in this format.
