Initial Career
Davies was born to Liberian parents at a Ghanaian refugee camp and he was the fourth out of six children. His father and mother Debeah and Victoria Davies initially resided in Monrovia. When the Second World War broke out, they went away from there and made their way to Canada in 2005.
There the family made Edmonton their new home. When Davies was 14 years old he shifted to Vancouver to get into the Whitecaps FC residency program. With the help of the program he was schooled at Burnaby Secondary and on June 6 2017, Davies became an official Canadian citizen.
Davies attended the St Nicholas Catholic Junior High School in Edmonton. For Davies, football became an early calling but he had his struggles with the English language. Some of his fellow Liberian friends in Canada said that early on, Davies spoke broken English.
His early brush with football came in the form of Free Footie. Davies’s initial career began when he played for the Edmonton International and Strikers sides. Then he found Whitecaps FC in 2015 which signalled the start of things to come for Davies.

Youth Career
In 2014 and 2015, Davies who was then still a citizen of Liberia honed his football skills at the U-15 and U-18 camps in Canada. In a U-17 camp in 2016, Davies netted a goal against Jamaica and was also named Canada U17 player of the year.
Davies was named for the same award for the second time in 2017. On 17 March 2016, he was asked to come and play some friendly games for the Canadian U-20 squad against England U-20.
Senior Career
On 6 June 2017, when Davies officially became a citizen of Canada, he became a part of the senior Canadian side in a friendly match against Curacao, Davies had also made the cut to a 40-member probables list that would play in the 2017 Gold Cup.
Davies made his debut at 16 years of age in the friendly against Curacao. He became the youngest member to break into the Canadian senior side. The left-back also made it to the 23-member 2017 Gold Cup squad. In Canada’s first Gold Cup fixture Davies scored a brace in a 4-2 win against French Guiana.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Davies made it to the first team on June 1 2016 which was his debut game. It took place in the first leg of the Canadian Championship. He signed his first team contract with the Whitecaps on July 15 2016. The contract was till 2018 with further extensions until the 2020 season.
