    He had finished as the 2nd-highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy 2022-23 with 798 runs under his belt in just 8 matches.

    2. Abhimanyu Easwaran is in red-hot form

    The batter from Bengal is in red-hit blistering form and has been performing well in the year 2024. He has scored centuries in his last 4 matches including the Irani Trophy 2024 and the first game of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 of Bengal against Uttar Pradesh.

    His knock of 191 runs for Rest of India in the Irani Trophy versus Mumbai highlighted his good form and his authority with the willow. Easwaran can most certainly translate his good form into the Test matches as well for India.

    Abhimanyu Easwaran has played plenty of cricket for India A on unofficial Tests and has captained the side as well. He comes with a bag of experiences and can easily soak up the pressure Down Under.

    India need a reliable and compact back-up opener for Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and the 29-year-old cricketer fits the bill. He has till date played 26 games for India A and has scored 1662 runs at a decent average of 42.61.
