With a maximum of six players allowed to be retained, franchises have strategically chosen their core squads, and now they turn their focus to filling remaining slots using their auction purses and Right to Match (RTM) cards.
IPL 2025 Retention Overview
Each of the ten IPL teams had an initial purse of ₹120 crore. However, after the retention process, the remaining amounts vary significantly among teams.
Notably, Punjab Kings surprised many by retaining only two uncapped players, giving them the largest remaining purse of ₹110.5 crore.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals retained three players but have the least amount left at ₹41 crore.
