Urvil Patel is an emerging Indian cricketer who has recently made headlines for his explosive batting performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Born on October 17, 1998, in Mehsana, Gujarat, Patel is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper.

He made his debut in domestic cricket in 2018 and has since been recognized for his aggressive playing style.

    Recent Achievements

Urvil Patel scored two consecutive T20 centuries within a week during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

His first century came on November 27, 2024, when he smashed the fastest T20 century by an Indian, reaching the milestone in just 28 balls against Tripura.

He followed this with another stunning performance on December 3, where he scored an unbeaten 115 runs off 41 balls against Uttarakhand, including 11 sixes and 8 fours.

This achievement made him the first player to record two T20 centuries in under 40 balls, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in Indian cricket.

    IPL Auction Experience

Despite his impressive performances, Urvil Patel went unsold in the IPL auction held recently.

He was part of the Gujarat Titans squad in IPL 2023 but did not play any matches before being released ahead of the 2024 auction.

His base price was set at INR 30 lakh, but none of the franchises opted to bid for him, leaving many to speculate on what could have been given his recent form.

    Career Background

Patel’s journey began with Baroda before transferring to Gujarat ahead of the Ranji Trophy season. He has played a total of 44 T20 matches, scoring 988 runs at an average of 23.52 and a strike rate of 164.11, which includes one century and four fifties.

His explosive batting style has drawn comparisons with established players like Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma.
