IPL 2025 Unsold Player Anmolpreet Singh Scored Fastest List A Century

Date:

Anmolpreet Singh, the Punjab batter, has made headlines by smashing the fastest List A century by an Indian player, achieving this remarkable feat in just 35 balls during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh on December 21, 2024.

This explosive performance took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and has placed Singh firmly in the record books.

Historic Achievement

In a match where Punjab was chasing a target of 165 runs, Anmolpreet came to the crease at number three after the early dismissal of captain Abhishek Sharma.

He went on to score an impressive 115 runs off just 45 balls, leading Punjab to a comfortable nine-wicket victory. His innings included 12 fours and 9 sixes, showcasing his aggressive batting style.

Anmolpreet’s 35-ball century not only broke the previous Indian record held by Yusuf Pathan, who scored a century in 40 balls during the 2009-10 Vijay Hazare Trophy, but it also ranks as the third-fastest List A century in cricket history.

The record for the fastest List A century is held by Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, who achieved it in 29 balls, followed by South Africa’s AB de Villiers with a 31-ball century.

Match Summary

After Punjab lost their captain early, Anmolpreet’s explosive innings ensured that they chased down the target in just 12.5 overs, finishing at 167 for 1.

His partnership with Prabhsimran Singh, who contributed an unbeaten 35 runs, was crucial in securing a dominant victory.

Despite his outstanding performance, Anmolpreet went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction.

His record-breaking innings may serve as a statement to IPL franchises about his capabilities as a top-order batter.

This achievement not only highlights Anmolpreet Singh’s talent but also positions him as a player to watch in future domestic and international competitions.

As he continues to develop his game, there is potential for him to become a significant figure in Indian cricket.
