The Super Smash 2024-25, New Zealand’s premier domestic T20 cricket competition, is set to commence on December 26, 2024, and will run until February 2, 2025.
This marks the 20th edition of the tournament, organized by New Zealand Cricket, featuring six competitive teams vying for the coveted title.
The Super Smash will follow a double round-robin format, where each of the six participating teams—Auckland Aces, Canterbury, Central Stags, Northern Districts, Otago Volts, and Wellington Firebirds—will play each other twice.
This results in a total of 32 matches throughout the tournament. Each team will play 10 matches in the league phase.
The team finishing at the top of the standings after all league matches will qualify directly for the final. Meanwhile, the second and third-placed teams will compete in an eliminator to secure the remaining spot in the final.
The Super Smash 2024-25 will kick off with a match between Northern Districts and Auckland Aces at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
