Cricket fans around the globe are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the IPL 2025 schedule, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expected to release the official fixtures next week. 

The opening match of IPL 2025 is expected to be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The first match is scheduled to be played on March 21.

IPL 2025 Schedule Expected Soon

The wait for the IPL 2025 schedule is nearly over, as the BCCI is reportedly set to reveal the full timetable in the coming days. 

This announcement will provide clarity on the exact dates, venues, and timings for all the matches, allowing fans to plan their viewing and attendance.

Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that IPL 2025 will begin on March 21. This marks the start of another edition of the cash-rich league, featuring ten teams vying for the coveted title. The tournament is scheduled to run until May 25.

Eden Gardens Likely to Host Final

Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is expected to host the final of IPL 2025. As the home ground of the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, Eden Gardens is a fitting venue for the grand finale. The stadium is also expected to host the opening ceremony.

While the core venues remain the same, Delhi Capitals will play two of their home matches in Visakhapatnam due to venue constraints at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

The Rajasthan Royals may also play some home matches in Guwahati. Hyderabad is expected to host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches.

IPL 2025 Key Changes and Rules

The IPL 2025 will adhere to the ICC’s Players’ Code of Conduct, ensuring a uniform disciplinary framework. 

The tournament will feature 74 matches, with the final taking place on May 25. This year’s edition will also coincide with the 2025 Pakistan Super League.

IPL 2025 Broadcasting Details

Following the merger between Viacom18 and Star India, the broadcasting landscape has shifted, with JioStar now owning both Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar. 

JioCinema is expected to shut down, with Disney+ Hotstar taking over digital broadcasting rights.

The tournament will feature the usual ten teams: Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.
