As India prepares for the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, speculation is growing about the future of several key players in the team.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja are three big stars who have been integral to India’s success in international cricket.

There is a strong possibility that these players might announce their retirement from international cricket after the Champions Trophy, marking the end of an era for Indian cricket.

    1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, the current captain of the Indian team, has been facing questions about his future in international cricket.

After retiring from T20 Internationals following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup last year, Rohit’s participation in other formats is under scrutiny.

The BCCI has reportedly urged him to clarify his plans beyond the Champions Trophy as they prepare for leadership changes ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Rohit’s inconsistent form in recent matches has added to the speculation about his potential retirement from ODIs and possibly even Tests.

    2. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, one of the most successful batters in cricket history, is also nearing the end of his international career.

Although Kohli has not made any official announcements, there is speculation that the Champions Trophy could be his last major ICC tournament.

The Indian team management is willing to wait before making any decisions regarding his role, but there is a growing sense that Kohli might consider retirement soon to allow younger players to step up.

    3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja, known for his all-round skills, is another player whose future in international cricket is uncertain.

Like Rohit and Kohli, Jadeja has already retired from T20Is and might consider extending his retirement to other formats after the Champions Trophy.

Jdeja’s physical fitness and ability to contribute with both bat and ball make him a valuable asset, but the Indian team is preparing for a transition phase, which could see younger players take over his role in the coming years.
