Williams, who was acquired by Mumbai Indians for ₹75 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

Lizaad Williams’ injury has been a lingering issue, as he also missed the SA20 in January 2025. Despite efforts to recover, Williams has not regained full fitness, leading to his withdrawal from the IPL 2025.

Corbin Bosch, a 30-year-old bowling all-rounder, has been signed as Williams’ replacement. Bosch brings a blend of batting and bowling skills, having represented South Africa in one Test and two One-Day Internationals.
He made his international debut in December 2024 and was also included in South Africa’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy as a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje.
Bosch has played 86 T20 matches, taking 59 wickets and scoring a highest of 81 with the bat.
His recent performances in the SA20 have been impressive, where he picked up 11 wickets in eight games for MI Cape Town, helping the team win the title.
Bosch’s experience includes being part of the victorious Proteas’ U-19 team that won the World Cup in 2014, where he was named Player of the Match in the final.

Although Bosch went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, he has prior IPL experience.
He was previously associated with the Rajasthan Royals as a net bowler and was signed as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile in 2022. However, he is yet to make his IPL debut.
