Sunil Narine has for a very long time, been the backbone of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having joined way back in 2012, the mystery spinner instantly became a household name and helped KKR win the IPL 2012.

Ever since that year, he has been an indispensable part of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise and has stepped up with both the bat and the ball. Narine has played 178 games for KKR and has been the backbone of the side.

Apart from bowling 4 overs, Narine also opens the batting for Kolkata and has transitioned from being a pinch-hitter to a regular opener.

Narine has scored 1578 runs and has bagged 181 wickets for the KKR franchise and has been a part of all the 3-title winning sides of KKR.

3. Narine is in red-hot form

In IPL 2024, Sunil Narine wreaked havoc alongside Phil Salt, at the top of the order. He mustered 488 runs and bagged 17 wickets and was one of the main reasons why KKR broke their 10-year trophy drought.

Narine also smashed his maiden century in the IPL in the game versus Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
