Big Blow For DC? Mitchell Starc’s IPL 2025 Comeback Uncertain Amid Geo-Political Turmoil

Delhi Capitals’s (DC) star pacer in the form of Mitchell Starc is unlikely to stage a comeback into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After the IPL 2025 was temporarily halted due to the growing geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, several overseas cricketers, boarded the flight back home.

Mitchell Starc and his wife, Alyssa Healy, have travelled back to Sydney and it is understood that he might not come for the remaining matches of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025. As per a report in Australia’s Nine News, Mitchell Starc’s manager has said that he will not come back to India.

As per a report in “The West Australian”, the Australian cricketers are reviewing their options as to whether they should come back to India for the remainder of the lucrative IPL 2025 tournament.

They are “shaken by the situation” and will take a call after careful consideration. Another report in The Age stated that the apex body of Australian Cricket, Cricket Australia (CA) will not pressurize the cricketers to come back into India and will support their decision.

Mitchell Starc has bagged 14 wickets so far in IPL 2025

The Australian speedster has been breathing fire in IPL 2025 and has bagged 14 wickets so far. He is the leading wicket-taker of Delhi Capitals and has been the backbone of their bowling department.

Starc has had a best bowling figure of 5/35 and has been a vital cog in the wheels of Delhi Capitals. His lethal and menacing bowling has been instrumental in Delhi being in a position where they can possibly qualify for the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals are presently in the 5th position in the points table and have notched up 6 wins in 11 games. The likes of Axar Patel, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav will be vital players to keep an eye on in the second leg of the IPL 2025.
