The much-awaited Asia Cup 2025 is on the cards and this time, it will be in T20 format, keeping in mind the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has confirmed that this edition of the Asia Cup will be taking place in September 2025.
It will start from 9th September and will go on till 28th September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The conditions in UAE are pretty similar to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India and hence the tournament becomes exciting.
As per the schedule, arch-rivals India and Pakistan first cross swords with each other on 14th September 2025 in the Group Stage. If they qualify to the Super Four, then they again play with each other on 21st September 2025.
And if both the teams top the Super Four points table, they can potentially meet in the finals too on 28th September 2025 in UAE.
Cricket fans are extremely excited to see their favourite teams back in action and lock horns with each other.
However, there is a cloud of uncertainty whether the apex body of Indian cricket, the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), will get the permission to play against Pakistan. They will seek the permission from the Government of India and there are high chances that India might boycott the Asia Cup 2025.
Recently, India Champions pulled out of the World Championship Of Legends (WCL) 2025 after they were pitted against Pakistan Champions in the semi-finals. Notably, Yuvraj Singh and co. had boycotted the league stage game against Pakistan Champions too.
