But, Root looked a bit upset from Moeen Ali’s decision. During an interaction, the English skipper said that the all-rounder will travel back home
“Moeen has chosen to go home,” said Root originally. “It’s obviously been a very tricky tour for him.
Of course, we wanted as many players available for as long as possible, but you also want them to be very comfortable here.
Root asserted that Moeen Ali has reached his breaking point and he wants to leave the bio-bubble. As per him, it might not have been an easy decision but the team completely respects what Moeen Ali has decided.
“I think we’ve come to a point where he wants to get out of the bubble. That’s absolutely fair enough. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for him, but it’s one we completely respect and understand.” he added.
As per the reports of Mirror, Joe Root himself apologized to Moeen Ali. And, he made an attempt to make things normal between him and Moeen Ali.
Earlier, Moeen Ali had clearly said that the current guidelines forced him to step back from the longer format of the game, “There have been days I’ve had not-so-good games but I feel like sometimes it’s easy to point the finger at me.
“It did get to me and that was probably one of the reasons why I felt like I needed to step back from Test cricket in particular.”
