WATCH: Ben Stokes Drops Easiest Catch To Gift Ishan Kishan A Reprieve On Debut

Date:

Ishan Kishan, the left-handed batsman got off to a fantabulous start to his international career. He dominated England bowlers in his T20I debut with sheer dominance. There is no doubt over the fact that he was batting in his prime and created several records. The southpaw managed a decent fifty with the bat that could have been denied if Ben Stokes would have not dropped a sitter at long-on.

.Ishan Kishan was picked by the selectors on the back of his performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and IPL 2020. He played brilliantly for Jharkhand and Mumbai Indians respectively. There were rumors that he might not get a chance to play against England looking forward to the settled batting line-up of Team India. However, he was picked in the side for the 2nd T20I as a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan.

Ben Stokes Drops An Easy Catch Of Ishan Kishan

Interestingly, Ishan Kishan grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He opened the innings for Team India and played a match-winning knock of 56 runs at a strike-rate of 175 with the help of five boundaries and 4 sixes. He amassed a scintillating fifty in his debut game but England could have denied him from scoring one.

In the 8th over of the innings, Ishan Kishan was batting at his individual score of 40 runs. He unleashed his beast mode and went for a six-over long-on. But, the southpaw failed in getting his timing right. Ben Stokes, who was standing at the long-on dropped a sitter. Even, the bowler Abdul Rashid also looked unimpressed with Stokes’s fielding effort.

Coming onto the match, India outclassed England by 7 wickets in the 2nd T20I to bring down the series to a level. Virat Kohli also gained his batting form and slammed 73 runs in just 49 balls with the bat.
