Joe Root, the England Test skipper has come up with an opinion that the national side should field the best playing XI keeping their much-debated rotation policy aside. He feels this is going to be an important series for England in their bid to prepare for the Ashes that will be played in the last month of the ongoing year.

England Cricket and Wales introduced rotation policy became one of the biggest debatable topics when they did not field their strongest playing team against India in the Test series and they lost the same by a 2-1. ECB kept moving forward with their rotation policy knowing that they had a slight chance of qualifying for the World Test Championship final.

Joe Root Wants ECB To Drop Their Rotation Policy For Test Series Against India

Now, Joe Root has come up with an opinion that they should try and test their best combinations against one of the best sides in the world in international cricket. As per him, this will help them in their preparations for the Ashes.

“We are coming into a period of time now where rest and rotation are put behind us,” Root was quoted as saying by ‘ESPNcricinfo’.

“Hopefully, if everyone is fit, we are going to have our best team available for what is to follow. That’s really exciting and something I’m very much looking forward to.”

“We have ten very hard Test matches against two brilliant opposition coming up but it is a great opportunity for us to play some strong cricket and if everyone is fit and available we will have a good team ourselves.”

“I’d like to think that, over the next five Test matches, we’ll be trying to play our strongest side or have our strongest squad available for those games. This is, I suppose, what you do it for: to ready yourself for this lead-in and for in particular that Ashes. To make sure everyone’s peaking for that, and these big games.
