Mohammed Siraj, the star Indian pacer is having a good time as a pacer. He had a great tour to Australia followed by his performance against England. But before his rise as a bowler, he has gone through a poor stint in the Indian Premier League back in 2019.
The star player gave his worst performance of his career with the ball against Kolkata Knight Riders giving 36 runs in just 2.2 overs. Meanwhile, he bowled a couple of beamers in the same game. Post-match, he was heavily trolled and criticized by the audience.
Mohammed Siraj reveals how everyone reacted when he bowled two beamers against KKR
Talking about the same game in an interview, Siraj asserted that by mistake he bowled a couple of beamers in that match, was asked by the fans to leave cricket and drive auto instead.
“When I bowled those two beamers against KKR, people said ‘quit cricket and go back and drive autos with your father’,” Siraj told The RCB Podcast
As per him, it is very easy to troll any player on his bad day. But nobody knows the struggle and hard work every player does behind the screen. Meanwhile, he also revealed the special advice he received from the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. He said his then skipper asked him to focus on his game and not listen to what is happening around him. He opined that it helped him a lot during his rise as a player.
“There were so many such comments. And people don’t see the struggle behind all this. But I remember when I first got selected how Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) told me to not listen to everything the people have to say about me.
“‘You do well today and they’ll praise you and when you don’t the same people will abuse you. So don’t ever take it seriously.’ And yes, the same people who trolled me incessantly back then say ‘you’re the best bowler bhai’. So, I know. I don’t want anybody’s opinion. I’m the same Siraj I was back then.”
