IPL 2023: 3 Notable Missing Names From The Auction List

Date:

The IPL 2023 Auction list was released for all the registered players. November 30, 2022, was the deadline for players to sign up for the mini-auction. The IPL’s organisers announced on December 1 that 991 players had registered their names for the upcoming Kochi auction.

714 of the 991 players are from India, while 277 are overseas players. The list of names to be auctioned includes almost all of the Indian players who were released before the IPL 2023 Auction. Know the three big players who lost their IPL contracts this year and have not registered for the IPL 2023 auction.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo

The flamboyant Caribbean all-rounder Bravo, 39, began his IPL career with Mumbai Indians, but a move to Chennai Super Kings allowed him to rise to the status of one of the most important players in the competition’s history.

Bravo is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the lucrative event with three IPL championships to his credit. The veteran took 183 wickets at an 8.38 economy rate in 161 games. Bravo, who batted in the lower middle order, also contributed to his team’s several victories.

Many supporters believed that CSK would re-sign him at the IPL mini-auction for less money. Bravo, though, made his retirement announcement yesterday. He has already been hired by CSK to serve as their bowling coach for IPL 2023.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith

Steve Smith, the former captain of Australia, will not participate in the lucrative competition in this year because he was released by the Delhi Capitals in 2022, along with several other Australian players.

Smith’s final job with the Delhi Capitals involved him mostly warming the bench. With the Ashes set to take place the following year, it is thought that the cricketer has taken some time off to concentrate on the longer format after his career strike rate of 128.09 in the Indian Premier League failed to help him gain a place in any of the teams last season.

Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins

Another player who played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous season, Pat Cummins, has chosen not to participate in the IPL in 2023. The Australian all-rounder had a great IPL 2022, scoring against the Mumbai Indians the second-fastest fifty in the competition’s history.

To keep himself healthy for The Ashes, Cummins will forgo the IPL in 2023. The series against England will begin on June 16, and he will serve as Australia’s Test captain.
