India Denies Visa To Pakistan Team For Blind Cricket World Cup In India

Date:

In major news that has broken today, the Indian government has denied giving a visa to the Pakistan blind cricket team for their arrival for the upcoming Blind Cricket World Cup. The tournament will be taking place from 5th December 2022 to 17th December 2022 and it is a T20 World Cup.

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) took to the micro-blogging platform Twitter to announce the news that India has failed to grant them visas for the Blind Cricket World Cup. According to the tweet, the team failed to get clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs in India.

“It (PBCC) strongly condemns this discriminating act of India as sports should be above regional politics. Our counterpart Blind Cricket Association in India pleaded with their government for Pakistan’s clearance but nothing was heard.

This discriminating act will have serious consequences on global blind cricket as we at World Blind Cricket will take stern action against them and may not allow India to host future International events,” PBCC said in their statement on Twitter.

The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) commented on this and said that the developments were confirmed. They said that they would be releasing an updated schedule.

“Pakistan blind cricket team will not be able to participate in the ongoing third T20 World Cup for the Blind being held in India despite CABI taking all the required steps to process their visa application,” said the CABI in a statement issued by them.

The other participating countries in the Blind Cricket World Cup are Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is the brand ambassador of this tournament.

The Blind Cricket World Cup will witness its inauguration on 5th December 2022 at the Tau Devi Lal Indoor Stadium in Gurugram.
