FIFA World Cup 2022: Deepika Padukone Will Unveil The World Cup Trophy During The Finals

The Indian touch at the FIFA World Cup 2022 has been quite evident in Qatar. From Bollywood actress and popular dancer Nora Fatehi singing the official song “Light the Sky” to Hindi lyrics being used in a portion of the song, the Bollywood touch has been superbly placed in the world’s biggest footballing spectacle. Now, another Bollywood connection comes up as Indian superstar Deepika Padukone will be unveiling the FIFA World Cup trophy before the finals in Qatar.

According to a report in the news agency ANI, the Bajirao Mastani actress will be unveiling the glittering trophy at the Lusail Iconic Stadium. The 36-year-old actress will be flying to Qatar to unveil the trophy on December 18. She thereby becomes the first actress to receive this humongous honor.

There however has been no official announcement yet. Earlier last month, Nora Fatehi also performed at the FIFA Fan Festival and impressed everyone with her dazzling performance. Her song “Light the Sky” was a major hit among Indian audiences and has been trending ever since.

Deepika Padukone will be next seen in the silver screen in the movie ‘Pathaan’ which is slated to release in 2023. She will be working alongside Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. The highly-anticipated movie will also have a cameo from Salman Khan.

Deepika Padukone is one of the most well-established actresses in the Bollywood industry. She has starred in major hit films such as Dostana, Chennai Express, Bajirao Mastani, Dilwale, and Padmaavat.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 has been a major success so far. It has witnessed many exciting and thrilling moments. There have been many upsets so far and presently, the Round of 16 is taking place.

The quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will commence on 9th December 2022. Croatia will be taking on Brazil in the 1st quarter-final.
