IIT Bombay Techfest 2022: Gamers’ League Coming Soon

With the rise of competitive eSports in the country and around the world, the volume of college students taking part in various eSports tournaments is on the rise. To cater to this section of students, many colleges are coming up with their own eSports tournaments. This is supremely beneficial for the eSports scene in the country as it encourages students to consider a career in eSports and helps in developing their talents. It also helps in scouting for talent that could one day represent India on stages across the world in international tournaments. 

One such eSports tournament is conducted by IIT Bombay every year as part of their Techfest. This tournament is called Gamers’ League and is conducted in every edition of the tech-fest. This tournament is a highly esteemed tournament and draws in participation from different parts of the country owing to the level of competition, organization, and variety in matches. It is considered to be Asia’s largest fest. Every year, the tournament bears witness to intense and fierce competition from players from different colleges and universities.

Gamers’ League 2022

The official Instagram page of IIT Bombay’s Techfest announced this year’s Gamers’ League a few hours ago through a short video. The trailer looks promising and gives us a glimpse of the eSports tournament. However, not much has been revealed about the details of the tournament, what games will be included, etc. Further details about the same will be released in the upcoming days. The trailer itself has garnered excitement from eager eSports talents in universities. 

The previous editions of the Gamers’ League tournament comprised games like Dota 2, CS:GO, among others. The tournament also usually offers an enormous prize pool for the winners. The format of the tournament usually begins with online qualifiers. The top 8 qualifying teams will then move to the LAN event to be held at the Techfest itself. Stay tuned for more details.
