The Indian national blind cricket team won the T20 World Cup for the Blind for the third time in a row and created history. They defeated Bangladesh at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium by a commanding score of 120 runs.
Ajay Kumar Reddy, the Indian captain, elected to bat after winning the toss, and his side eventually set a challenging total of 277 runs for Bangladesh. Man of the match awards were given to Sunil Ramesh.
As dominant India struck a massive 277 for two in the allotted 20 overs, Sunil Ramesh and captain Ajay Kumar Reddy each blasted superb tonnes. The Bangladeshi team could only muster 157 points for three in return.
PM Modi congratulates Indian blind cricket team
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian team on winning the third Blind T20 World Cup through Twitter.
Congratulating Team India, PM Modi in a tweet said, “India is proud of our athletes. Delighted that we have won the T-20 World Cup for the Blind. Congratulations to our team and best wishes to them for their future endeavours.”
Blind T20 World Cup 2022: Prize Money And Awards Winners List
Sunil Ramesh won Man of the Match award in the championship. He was also given the B3 category’s Man of the Series award. India, the tournament’s victors and unbeaten team, won Rs. 3 lakh as prize money, while Bangladesh took second place and received Rs. 1.5 lakh.
Ajay won the title of Man of the Series in the B2 division. Mohammed Mahmud Rashid of Bangladesh won the title of Man of the Series in the B1 division. India had a poor start when they decided to bat. Salman removed vice-captain D Venkateswara in the fourth over and then removed Lalit Meena’s stumps in the same over.
