The first game of the three-match T20I series between Team India and Sri Lanka is set for today, January 3, at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. The Indian cricket community is still reeling from the news of Rishabh Pant’s freak automobile accident. Hardik opens up on how the environment is inside the dressing room after the news of Pant’s accident.
Earlier, the BCCI had confirmed that Pant had two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, as well as abrasions on his back.
As per the latest update, Pant was shifted from the ICU to a private hospital ward. Although the findings of his brain and spine MRIs were normal, it is still unknown how badly injured his knee is.
When asked about Pant’s accident from Hardik, he said in the pre-match press conference, “What happened is very unfortunate. No one has control over that. As a team, we wish him all the best. Our love and prayers are always with him, and we hope that he has a speedy recovery. He’s an important player for the team. We need to evaluate. In his absence, others will get opportunities. A huge difference when he’s not part.”
