IND vs NZ: Shubman Gill Smashes Fastest T20I Century By An Indian

Date:

Shubman Gill’s blitzkrieg in the 3rd T20I made him get into the records books. The 23-year-old flamboyant and stylish cricketer blazed his way to a fabulous knock of 126*(63). It was an inning for the ages.

Batting first, India posted a mammoth total of 234, courtesy of Gill’s humongous century. It was incidentally India’s highest score in T20Is. The previous highest score was Virat Kohli’s knock of 122, which came against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022.

Shubman Gill’s knock was packed with 12 fours and 7 sixes and he had a staggering strike rate of 200.

The cricketer from Punjab scored his first half-century in 35 balls and the second half-century came off just 19 balls. Innings of epic proportions and innings from an absolute champion player.

Even though there were talks ahead of the game that Prithvi Shaw might be replacing Gill in the squad, Gill reposed the faith of skipper Hardik Pandya.

New Zealand will be needing to punch above its weight in order to chase this down.
