Jake Jervis announced himself to the Indian Super League (ISL) with an outstanding goal that spelled extraordinary in every possible way. The Englishman scored his first goal for East Bengal FC and helped the home side salvage 1 point from there ISL 2022-23 game against NorthEast United FC.
After a delay in the upliftment of the transfer ban, Jake Jervis couldn’t feature for East Bengal FC for 3 weeks. However, he made his debut in the game against Kerala Blasters FC last week and left an impression immediately on Head Coach Stephen Constantine.
In yesterday’s game against NorthEast United FC, Jake Jervis pulled off this stellar goal in front of the home crowd of the Red and Gold Brigade. A long throw-in from Mohammad Rakip was headed close to the goal by Sumeet Passi.
It landed in between Cleiton Silva and Jake Jervis and Jervis put on a superb display out there. With supreme level athleticism and dynamism, Jake Jervis scored a bicycle kick goal to make sure East Bengal FC equalise. The score read 2-2 and the home team was back in the game.

Scoring his 1st goal in his 2nd game itself, Jake Jervis erupted into a wild celebration and his hunger, passion and determination were all on display in that animated celebration.
Even though the 31-year-old scored and brought cheers into the East Bengal FC camp, they could not get all the 3 points through this game.
After Cleiton Silva’s took East Bengal’s goal-scoring tally in this game to 3, Imran Khan equalised for the Highlanders in the 85th minute of the game.
Both the teams had to settle for 1 point. This was East Bengal FC’s first draw in ISL 2022-23. On the other hand, NorthEast United FC have 5 points under their belt. They have 1 win and 2 draws under their belt in ISL 2022-23.
