The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be the 16th edition of this cash-rich tournament. Several players have over the years grabbed the opportunity of playing in the IPL with both hands and then eventually gone on to represent India.
The likes of Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tripathi, Jasprit Bumrah and Surya Kumar Yadav have all played well in the IPL and have then represented India. IPL’s competitiveness has been immense and players from all across the globe ply their trades for the 10 respective franchises.
With domestic players of India rubbing shoulders with some international stars and Indian cricket team stars, they can have an exceptional learning curve and can then integrate into the national team set-up.
In this article, we take a look at 3 players who can play for India after a good IPL season in this year:
1. Yash Dhull (Delhi Capitals)
The U-19 winning captain of India in the year 2022, Yash Dhull is touted as the next big-thing of Indian cricket. He brims with leadership qualities and has the ability to play on the international stage. He was snapped by the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise for Rs. 50 lakhs in the IPL 2022 auction but did not get a game.
If he plays in IPL 2023, he could receive a solid opportunity to prove his mettle and showcase the world as to what he has within himself. Dhull had finished the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season as Delhi’s highest run-getter with 479 runs under his belt and at an average of 119.75.
2. Sarfaraz Khan (Delhi Capitals)
With Rishabh Pant being ruled out of IPL 2023, Sarfaraz Khan could get an opportunity to don the wicketkeeping gloves in the cash-rich tournament for Delhi. Khan has been in a hot and blistering form in the Ranji trophy in the last 3 editions and has an average of over 100 in all the 3 editions.
The swashbuckling middle-order batter can most certainly present a strong case for himself if he has a good IPL season.
3. Mohsin Khan (Lucknow Super Giants)
There is a dearth of left arm pacers in India and Mohsin Khan could well be a promising option for India in the white-ball formats. Khan had a stellar IPL 2022 for the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants franchise.
In the 9 matches he played for Lucknow, Moshin Khan had bagged 14 wickets and had a stupendous economy of 5.96.
