IPL 2023: 3 Players CSK Can Give Chance In Playing XI As Deepak Chahar Replacement

Date:

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most successful teams in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, are renowned for their smart play and great team bonding. However, injuries or unforeseen events can occasionally throw the team’s balance off.

Deepak Chahar sustained an injury during their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2023, giving another shock to the team. After bowling just one over, the pacer left the pitch. He appeared to be in great discomfort, and it is almost inevitable that he won’t be available for the following game against the Rajasthan Royals.

The right-arm pacer appears to have hurt his hamstring last Saturday when competing at the Wankhede Stadium against the Mumbai Indians, according to Cricbuzz. In the game, Deepak Chahar opened the bowling for the Chennai Super Kings. He bowled just one over and had a return of 0/10.

In the Chennai Super Kings squad for IPL 2023, Chahar is the Indian fast bowler with the most experience. CSK will need a member of their bench to step up and perform admirably for the squad in their upcoming matches because Mukesh Choudhary is also out of the IPL 2023.

On April 12, CSK will play the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Check three players whom CSK can pick as a replacement for Deepak Chahar in their playing XI for the clash against RR.

Simarjeet Singh can replace Deepak Chahar

The squad can try to give Simranjeet Singh an opportunity since Deepak Chahar is probably going to miss CSK’s upcoming match against RR.

Last year, Simarjeet Singh made his IPL debut with the Chennai Super Kings. For CSK, the tall, skittish bowler played six games and claimed four wickets. He took the pitch with the CSK starting lineup against the Rajasthan Royals in the last league-stage game of the campaign. Singh finished that game with statistics of 1/18 in three overs.

The pacer can also swing the new ball, as was extremely clear during the previous campaign. It is anticipated that he will be the ideal choice to fill the gap left by Deepak Chahar.

Akash Singh can get a chance in CSK playing XI

The Chennai Super Kings picked Akash Singh to take Mukesh Choudhary’s spot. The pacer has a great track record in U19. He bowled quite well and was quite amazing. The left-arm pacer has taken 31 wickets in nine T20 matches, nine List-A games, and five first-class contests thus far. For CSK, he might add a left-arm angle to the lineup. He can also swing from the new ball, which is useful for the CSK squad ad Deepak Chahar’s replacement.

Rajvardhan Hangargekar can be a major boost

Hangargekar was unable to play the MI game for unknown reasons. Hangargekar has taken three wickets so far in two games, all of which came in the first contest against the Gujarat Titans. His pace will make things difficult for the batters, and his hit-the-deck bowling technique will work well on the Chepauk surface.

Hangargekar is a threat to RR batsmen because of his deceptive motion and ability to create a good pace. In the shorter game format, he can be effective with his variations since he can swing the ball in both directions. Hangargekar is a dark horse to replace Chahar in the starting XI for CSK due to his untapped talent and potential.
