Skyesports Masters CS:GO League: Details, Format, Prize Pool

Date:

The largest CS:GO event in India to date, the Skyesports Masters, was launched by Skyesports, one of South Asia’s top esports tournament organisers.

Eight teams will compete in this franchised league. It will take place over the course of three months for a total prize fund of Rs. 2 crores.

India’s top CS:GO players will compete at the unique esports event known as Skyesports Masters.

The eight franchised teams will be able to play Counter-Strike with some of India’s best players. Teams will also have the chance to recruit some of the nation’s young and promising players from different regions.

Skyesports Masters CS:GO League Format

The tournament will be conducted as a LAN event. A league split will be part of the first stage. This will be followed by a playoff round that will be broadcast live from Mumbai.

The on-site café qualifiers are anticipated to be hosted in 20 locations throughout India.

The finest CS:GO players in India will be identified by Skyesports in collaboration with regional gaming cafés in key cities.

The cities with café qualifiers are Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.

These local players will get the chance to join Indian and foreign CS:GO pros on the rosters of the franchised teams playing in the Skyesports Masters.

Skyesports also intends to use its position in the industry to perhaps create new revenue sources for the eight franchised teams taking part in the competition.

This will include agreements for broadcast rights, retail sales, and sponsorship. A cohesive Counter-Strike ecosystem will be created by Skyesports’ efforts to provide the participating teams with additional revenue streams in the years to come.

Skyesports Founder Shiva Nandy’s Comments

The Skyesports Masters league’s concept was discussed, as well as the Indian esports ecosystem, by Shiva Nandy, founder and CEO of Skyesports. He stated:

“Esports organizations in India are operating under loss. Creating a sustainable ecosystem for them was the need of the hour. We spoke to many stakeholders over the past year and realized that the creation of a league in a game where the publisher doesn’t restrict opportunities to monetize is necessary. Counter-Strike was the perfect game for that.”

He also stated:

“I also received hints that Counter Strike 2 was coming which is why we gravitated towards the game. CS has a rich history in India and we are confident that with the right support, it can grow to become the leading esports title. We have taken a long-term commitment with the Skyesports Masters and will be working to make this happen over the next few years.”

Skyesports has not yet officially released any information about the tournament’s schedule, format, location, or ticket prices. It will most likely be announced shortly.
