Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were involved in a high-drama cricketing game, that went right down to the wire. There was drama, excitement, and plenty of action in this RR vs SRH game at the Sawai Man Singh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur.

Hyderabad kept their nerves and rode on some luck and eventually chased down the imposing total of 215 runs. The SRH batters finally displayed consistency and it paid rich dividends.

Aiden Markram’s SRH side first took a bold call by dropping Mayank Agarwal and bringing in Anmolpreet Singh. It was a good decision as the latter played a good knock of 33 runs in 25 balls and provided solidity at the top.

1. The no-ball drama in the last ball

5 runs were needed off the final delivery and experienced campaigner Sandeep Sharma was bowling to SRH’s Abdul Samad. Samad struck the ball towards long-off and it was gobbled down by Jos Buttler.

RR broke into their celebrations as they thought they had pocketed the game. But fate had something else in store for them. The dreaded no-ball siren started playing and the ball had to be bowled again and Abdul Samad got a free hit.

And the batter from Jammu and Kashmir didn’t squander this lifeline. He struck the ball down for a six and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for Hyderabad.

2. Glenn Phillip’s fireworks

Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 41 runs in 12 balls and Glenn Phillips produced a masterclass of a cameo. In the 18th over, he struck 3 sixes off the first 3 balls off Kuldip Yadav and tilted the balance of the game towards the visitors.

The 4th ball went for a boundary down 3rd man and the game that once felt was out of SRH’s reach, now had become in their grasp.

Glenn Phillips also got the Player of the Match award for his impactful innings.

3. Jos Buttler’s swashbuckling knock

Based on his cricketing standards, Jos Buttler wasn’t having a good IPL 2023 season before this RR vs SRH game. But Buttler produced a lovely innings in this game and scored 95 runs in just 59 balls.

The Englishman’s knock was peppered with 10 fours and 4 sixes and this is a great sign for Rajasthan Royals.
