Babar Azam Joins Elite Club: Second Cricketer To Score 10 T20 Centuries

Date:

Pakistan’s cricketing maestro, Babar Azam, etched his name in history books by becoming only the second player to reach the milestone of 10 centuries in T20 cricket.

The remarkable feat was achieved during an explosive innings for Colombo Strikers against Galle Titans in the Lanka Premier League.

With a scintillating knock of 104 runs off just 59 balls, Babar displayed his sheer class and prowess in the shortest format of the game. This century marked his maiden triple-digit score in the Lanka Premier League and elevated him to the exclusive list of just four centurions in the tournament’s history.

While Babar has already notched up three T20 hundreds at the international level, his tally of 10 includes two each in the Vitality Blast and National T20 Cup, representing Somerset and Central Punjab, respectively. He also boasts a century in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) while playing for Peshawar Zalmi, along with another during a tour match against Leicestershire.

Babar Azam now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the finest in T20 cricket, but there’s one player still ahead in this elite club. West Indies’ power-hitting legend, Chris Gayle, remains at the pinnacle with an awe-inspiring 22 centuries in 463 matches.

As Babar continues to amass runs and dazzle cricket fans worldwide, his latest feat cements his status as a modern-day batting marvel. With his insatiable hunger for runs and extraordinary talent, Babar Azam is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in T20 cricket and a beacon of hope for Pakistan’s cricketing future.
