Watch: Anrich Nortje gets hit by spider camera during 2nd Test vs Australia

In a bizarre incident on the field, South Africa speedster Anrich Nortje was hit by a spider camera while he fielding during Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test match between Australia and South Africa. Anrich Nortje was moving from the mid-wicket to the fine leg position in between overs, when a fast-paced spider camera struck him on his head.

The unusual incident happened in the 2nd Test match on Day after the Lunch session. Fox Sports’ “Flying Fox” spider camera hit Nortje while being in full speed. The tall and lanky speedster fell down to the ground but it didn’t look like a very serious injury.

Australia was batting at 176-2 during that time. Anrich Nortje had completed an amazing spell after Lunch as he conceded just 11 runs in his 4 overs, while maintaining tight line and lengths. When Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje bowl in tandem, it often discomforts the opposition batters.

David Warner was the man of the moment as he became the 2nd individual to score a double century in their 100th Test match. The other batter is Joe Root. Warner also crossed the 8000-run mark for Australia in Test matches and put a lid on the mouth of all his naysayers.

Anrich Nortje took the prized wicket of Steve Smith

Anrich Nortje has bagged the wicket of Steve Smith in the game and it was an extremely crucial wicket. The former Australian skipper was batting on 85(161) and was well set.

Anrich Nortje had taken 2 wickets in the 1st Test match of the ongoing series between Australia and South Africa. The Proteas had lost the game by 6 wickets and would be looking to stage a comeback in this game.

Presently at the time of writing this article, Australia is batting at 368-3. David Warner became retired hurt after his celebration after bagging his double century at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
