The Asian Cricket Council has announced the full fixtures of the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday, July 19.

The tournament, slated to be played in the 50-over format, is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 17 and will feature six teams: India, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The Asia Cup 2023 action will unfold across four venues in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, the host nation, will kick off the Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a match in Multan on August 30. One of the most eagerly awaited clashes in the group stage will be between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, set to take place on September 2 in Kandy.

Out of the 13 matches to be played, only four will be held in Pakistan, with a Super Four match likely to take place in Lahore, possibly between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The group stage will conclude on September 5, followed by the commencement of the Super Four stage on September 6. The Asia Cup 2023 final will be held on September 17 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Asia Cup 2023: Format & Matches

The Asia Cup 2023 comprises two groups, with Pakistan grouped alongside India and Nepal in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are placed in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, where the top two teams from this phase will eventually progress to the final showdown.

The Asia Cup holds significant importance as it serves as a preparatory event for five of the six participating teams, except Nepal, for the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on October 5 in India.

Bangladesh is set to face Afghanistan on September 3 in Lahore, followed by a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on September 5.

If Nepal and Afghanistan secure spots in the Super Four stage, they will replace the eliminated team (either Pakistan or India in Group A, and Sri Lanka or Bangladesh in Group B).

The only Super Four match scheduled in Pakistan will take place on September 6 in Lahore, between the top team from Group A (A1) and the second-placed team from Group B (B2).

As the Asia Cup 2023 approaches, fans and cricket enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the thrilling clashes and competitive spirit that the tournament promises to deliver.
