    The Asia Cup 2023 is all set to kick off on August 31 and run till September 17. As India and Pakistan bring back their long-standing rivalry in the much-awaited Asia Cup 2023, cricket fans can now anticipate an exciting clash. 

    A hybrid model will be used to host the 2023 Asia Cup, with games taking place in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Two teams from each of the two groups in the tournament will advance to the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage. The top two teams at last will contend in this round to advance to the final match.

    The Asia Cup 2023 final is scheduled for September 17th, 2023. The powerhouse of the cricket world, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal will compete in a total of 13 One Day International (ODI) games, according to the Asian Cricket Council.

    According to a statement made public, Pakistan will host four of the 2023 Asia Cup matches, while nine of the other matches will be played in Sri Lanka.

    Asia Cup 2023 is to be hosted in a hybrid model 

    Asian Cricket Council announces the hybrid format for the Asia Cup 2023, featuring matches split between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with an intense Super Four stage leading to the ultimate final clash.

    “The tournament will be hosted in a hybrid model with four matches being held in Pakistan, and the remaining nine matches being played in Sri Lanka. The 2023 Edition will feature two groups, with two teams from each group qualifying for the Super Four stage. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will then face off in the final,” the Asian Cricket Council said in a statement.

    Lahore will be the host of Asia Cup 2023

    The upcoming Asia Cup faced challenges due to strained political relations between India and Pakistan, resulting in India ruling out travel to Pakistan. In response, Pakistan threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup if the entire Asia Cup 2023 was not held in their country.

    Eventually, a compromise was reached, and the tournament will be split between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Matches in Pakistan will be hosted in Lahore, while the games in Sri Lanka will take place in Kandy and Pallekele.

    The confirmation of the Asia Cup schedule also means that Pakistan will travel to India for the ODI World Cup in October-November. The highly anticipated clash between the arch-rivals is expected to take place on October 15 at the renowned cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.
