    Shubman Gill and co. defeated England by a humongous margin of 336 runs in the 2nd Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India outplayed England in all the 3 departments to register a fabulous victory.

    India have played 9 Test matches in Birmingham and this was their first-ever victory. After 7 losses and 1 draw, India finally scripted history to register a fabulous victory.

    Batting first, India posted a huge total of 587 runs. Shubman Gill smashed a blistering double century and his knock of 269 runs was the highest-ever total posted by an Indian captain. Gill was complemented by Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 89 runs in the 1st innings.

    Much to the dismay of the English bowlers, Shubman Gill toyed around with the bowling of England and made sure to win the game by a humongous margin.

    Shoaib Bashir and Chris Woakes were the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

    England responded with 407 runs

    On the back of a stellar knock of 184* runs by Jamie Smith, England posted 407 runs in their 1st innings. Middle-order batter Jamie Smith hogged the limelight and his terrific knock was peppered with 21 fours and 4 sixes.

    Harry Brook too performed well and scored 158 runs and his knock was dotted with 17 fours and 1 six.

    Shubman Gill continued his majestic form in the 2nd innings

    Shubman Gill scored another scintillating ton in the 2nd innings and helped India reach a dominant stage. The Indian captain scored 161 runs in 162 deliveries and helped India score 427/6d – setting a huge total of 608 runs for England to chase.

    England failed to soak up the pressure and were bundled out for 271 runs. Akash Deep was the cynosure of all eyes as he bagged 6 wickets. He took 10 wickets in the entire Test match at Birmingham.
