Team India were forced to make a change in the bowling department as both Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh were ruled out of the 4th Test match due to injuries. India then drafted in Anshul Kamboj and handed him his debut cap at Old Trafford, Manchester, on 23rd July 2025 in the 4th ENG vs IND Test.

India are presently trailing 1-2 in the Test series and need a strong comeback in the 4th Test match. Both the teams would be looking to maximize on their opportunities and win the game.

After Day 1’s play, India are presently batting on 264/4 with Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur at the crease, batting on 19* respectively.

Know the Success Story of Anshul Kamboj!

Anshul Kamboj received Test Cap number 318 and has made his debut at the young and ripe age of 24. Born on 6th December 2000 in Karnal, Haryana, Anshul Kamboj lives and breathes cricket.

He represents Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has impressed MS Dhoni with his bowling skills at the Powerplay. He bagged 8 wickets in IPL 2025 and impressed one and all. Dhoni also heaped praise on his sharp seam movement.

Kamboj has bagged 79 wickets in 24 first-class matches and has the ability to wreak havoc with the red ball.

Anshul’s journey to the top level hasn’t been an easy one and there are several roadblocks that he encountered on route. His father had several epileptic episodes and that was a huge concern for him.

After the India A tour of England A concluded, Anshul Kamboj was sent back home as Harshit Rana was preferred over him as an injury cover.

He came back to Haryana and didn’t get bogged down. He immediately started putting in the hard yards and practiced with his coach, Satish Rana.

“After coming back, Anshul bowled and batted a lot. He was preparing a lot. We thought, as his overall performance was going really well, he would get a chance. Anshul has ample experience bowling with the Dukes ball. The Haryana Cricket Association has played a huge role. He bowled with the Dukes ball after coming here. He worked hard on his batting as well,” said Rana as quoted by Hindustan Times.
