Essilor Signs Cricket Icon Virat Kohli As Brand Ambassador To Transform Eyewear Industry

Date:

Essilor, the leading French eyewear brand and a global pioneer in prescription lenses, has announced a major collaboration with former India captain and cricket icon, Virat Kohli. The partnership, set to last for two years, will see Virat Kohli serving as the brand ambassador for Essilor.

Narasimhan Narayanan, the country head at EssilorLuxottica South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm for the alliance, stating, “The eyewear and vision care market in India is anticipated to grow well, and we want to be a catalyst to further expand the market. Virat embodies our brand’s quest to transform the eyewear industry through quality and innovation.”

Essilor boasts an impressive portfolio comprising renowned brands such as Stellest, Eyezen, Varilux, and Crizal, spanning ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses.

The selection of Virat Kohli as the brand ambassador is a strategic move, given his immense popularity and brand value. A report by consulting firm Kroll in March revealed that Kohli’s brand value stands at a staggering $176.9 million.

He is associated with numerous other esteemed brands, including Puma sportswear, Manyavar apparel, his lifestyle brand Wrogn, and the e-commerce platform Myntra.

The collaboration between Essilor and Virat Kohli promises to elevate the eyewear industry to new heights, leveraging Kohli’s widespread appeal to promote the importance of vision correction and innovation in eyewear.
