    Gurbaz’s Ram Aye Hai Story

In a heartwarming display of cross-cultural appreciation, Afghan cricketer Rahmanullah Gurbaz recently took to social media to share his enthusiasm for the inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, India.

The event, which marked the end of a wait spanning nearly 500 years, has been a cause for celebration not only within India but also resonated with international personalities, including sports figures.

On January 22nd, the historic inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple held with grandeur, led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of iconic celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth, and Chiranjeevi, along with notable sports stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad, Ravindra Jadeja, Saina Nehwal, and Mithali Raj.

Adding an international touch to the celebrations, several cricketers from around the world, including David Warner, Kevin Pietersen, and Keshav Maharaj, extended their wishes to India on this historic occasion.

Joining this global chorus, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the explosive opener from Afghanistan, expressed his joy through a unique Instagram story.

In the Instagram story, Gurbaz is seen posting a mirror selfie, with the melodious background score of the popular song “Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain.” Sung by Jubin Nautiyal and produced by T-Series, the devotional song celebrates the homecoming of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

What makes Gurbaz’s gesture particularly noteworthy is the religious and cultural context; “Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain” is dedicated to Lord Ram, a central figure in Hinduism, while Gurbaz himself is a Muslim.

Despite these religious differences, Gurbaz’s choice to feature the song in his Instagram story has been widely praised, with fans lauding the cricketer for sharing in the joy of another country’s citizens.

The song, which has gained immense popularity across India, resonates with millions for its devotional fervor and soulful rendition.

On the cricketing front, Gurbaz recently faced a challenging series against India, where Afghanistan suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Despite the on-field setbacks, his off-field gesture highlights the power of cultural moments to bridge gaps and foster understanding among diverse communities.
