West Indies are the co-hosts of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played in June 2024. The two-time champions of this competition would be gunning to showcase their mettle and cricketing prowess, especially after not being able to qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Along side USA, West Indies will be hosting this marquee event. The Caribbean flavour and magic will be prevalent as the tournament promises to live up to its billing. Andre Russell has been playing well for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and can be labelled as the backbone of the West Indies T20I squad, that will fight for their 3rd World T20 Trophy.
2. Shimron Hetmeyer
Southpaw Shimron Hetmeyer has staged a comeback into the T20I squad of West Indies after missing out on the T20I series versus Australia. Hetmeyer is presently plying his trade for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2024 and can smear sixes in the middle, in a nonchalant fashion.
Hetmeyer had scored 227 runs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 and was the third-highest run-getter of Guyana Amazon Warriors.
3. Jason Holder
Another kingpin in the West Indies squad, Jason Holder can bat and bowl with equal expertise. His ability to bowl in the powerplay and pick up wickets in the death overs, makes him an integral part of the Windies squad.
